Artists Statement: Form and Content. A tight rope. A balancing act.

Moving between right and left brain (form vs. content), Michael finds pleasure in both areas. Using the figure as his subject, he seeks to find a comfortable balance between these opposing forces unconsciously letting life events effect the end result. He finds the painting experience to be a total emersion in a sea of lush paint on linen which evolves (hopefully) into a pleasurable experience for the viewer.
